Sponsored by CBC Music, this contest for classroom and after-school choirs is going to be our focus for the months of September and October.

We will be creating our own take on one of the iconic Canadian works selected for this competition.

Not only does this give members of Kids Sing Chorus a chance to learn some amazing Canadian repertoire, it gives them a chance to explore the creative process of making an arrangement AND doing a video of their creation.

Winning would be the icing on the cake!

There is recorded feedback from the guest conductor, which is a wonderful learning tool.

However, the best part is singing the massed choral works to finish the evening. Imagine learning two cool songs and then performing them with over 350 singers! It is always a highlight of our year, and we look forward to another amazing experience.

Singing for others is one of the benefits of being in a choir, and the members of Kids Sing Chorus love to share their voices with our community.

On our own, we sing for the seniors at Cedar's Cottage Neighbourhood House, as well as our teachers and neighbours who shop at Kingsgate Mall.

Partnered with Vivaldi Chamber Choir (an adult community choir also led by Edette), the members of Kid Sing Chorus bring their passion for music to the residents of George Pearson Centre and Cooper Place.

Each of these performances spreads smiles and joy throughout our greater community.

For the third consecutive year, Kids Sing Chorus will be participating in the non-competitive choir festival annually run by the Vancouver School Board.

The members of Kids Sing Chorus get a chance to sing a few of their best songs for an audience of fellow young singers, and the applause is wonderful.
